Matthew Matt James, born December 5, 1991 in North Carolina. He is the father of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. He is the son of Nigerian and his mother is a caucasian American. After graduating of Sanderson High School, in 2010, he attended Wake Forest University and obtained his Bachelor's in Economics. James first became famous for his role as The Bachelorette's reality star. He was selected in 2020 to be the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The season premiered in 2021. James was the ideal candidate for the job, as he is well-rounded, tall and has good humor. Rachael Krakconnell was the one he had chosen as his partner throughout the season. In the season 30 (in 2021) of Dancing with the Stars, He competed against the legendary dancing star Arnold. James as well as Arnold finished 12th place.
